William Allen Court, 91, of Denman Cove, Owasco, passed away unexpectedly on April 13, 2016 at his home. Born in Auburn, he was the son of the late Floyd and Elizabeth (Mitchell) Court. Bill was a 1943 East High School graduate and a proud Marine veteran of WW II, serving from 1943 to 1946. He retired in 1987 as president of OnBank, Auburn region, formerly known as Savings & Loan Association of Auburn, having served 28 years. Bill was past president of Auburn Kiwanis Club and he and his wife co-chaired and were active in the Mercy Hospital Cotillion and was involved in many civic activities. He loved his home on Owasco Lake and enjoyed fishing and appreciated all the beautiful sunsets. Music was important to him, especially that of the big band era and took joy in playing the piano and singing. He always looked forward to his visits to Clayton, NY where he spent many hours fishing on the St. Lawrence River. His greatest love was his family and spending time with them. He would often say," The greatest of days are spent with family". He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Kathleen (Cox) Court; his daughter Pamela Skomsky and her husband Michael; his son Garth Court and his wife Lynn; five grandchildren, Matthew (Annie), Kathleen and Elizabeth Hazzard and William and Lauren Court; 4 great grandchildren; two nieces Sue Cox and Mary Kay Fager and a cousin David Mitchell. Bill was predeceased by his daughter Susan Court in 1972. Calling hours will be Friday, April 15 from 4-6PM at Langham Funeral Home, LLC, 75 E. Genesee St., Auburn. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10AM at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers those wishing may make contributions to the Sue Court Memorial Award (The Cayuga County Community College Foundation, 197 Franklin St., Auburn or to a charity of your choice in memory of Bill.
