Dear Thomas-&-Dianne, Peter-&-Heidi, Doris and Family and Friends:
I was saddened to learn of the death of Richard on March 4, 2016. It is sad to lose a loved one in death at any time or any age, but at 83 years old, prayerfully it can be said of Richard what was said of Isaac at Genesis 35:29, βhe died old and satisfied with days.β Even though I did not know Richard personally, please accept my deepest sympathy at your loss.
May I please share with you some comforting verses from the Bible, thoughts that others have shared with me when I lost loved ones in death, especially my father, Harold, to cancer at Hospice Hawaii.
First, it was never our Creator's purpose that anyone should die, ever! When He put Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, they had the prospect of endless life in ageless bodies, in perfect health, on a perfect Earth (Genesis 1:28). Adam and Eve could have passed that life on to us, but they disobeyed and lost everything for themselves ... and us. (Romans 5:12)
Next, it comforted me, and softened my feelings about Jehovah God to learn that it is Satan who causes aging, sicknesses like cancer, and death--not God (Hebrews 2:14). Long before He created humans, the Creator already had all the angels He wanted in heaven (Job 38:7).
Finally, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are our guarantees that this Earth will yet be a peaceful, global paradise and that Richard (and countless millions of others, including Joan, Norma, Maureen, Maurice-&-Helen Ann) will be resurrected to enjoy it! Remember Jesus's words at John 5:28-29a and John 11:25: "I am the resurrection and the life," and "all those in the memorial tombs ... will be resurrected." Until then, Rest In Peace.
May you have comfort and peace from these promises until the day when you can be reunited with a young and healthy Richard. And, ... If you would ever like to know more about when and how our Creator Jehovah will bring about these wonderful blessings (or why He has allowed sickness, suffering and death since Adam and Eve sinned so long ago), please feel free to contact me at the address below.
With deepest sympathy and genuine respect,
Harolyne Grant

Tom and Peter, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your father. He was my coach when I was in high school, my AD when I was teaching and coaching in auburn. Couldn't ask for a nicer guy and friend. My prayer and thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

Not only a great coach and great man, but someone who taught me a lot about myself and life. Didn't realize "Coach" had a portrait in the attic as this photo looks little changed from one in my "66" Arrow yearbook. I personally know he didn't always smile (one of my life lessons), but I will always remember that smile of his.
My condolences,
Jim Hageman

Tom,Peter and families,
Very sorry for your loss.Your father meant a lot to me.
He had a great impact on my life.Throughout East High School he was my
Coach, advisor, and role model.Returning to Auburn and teaching he became
my mentor and eventually my Boss. After his retirement it was always a bright spot in my day to run into him at Wegmans,Lowes,or Owasco Yacth Club. I will remember him fondly
and often.
I am truly sorry I can not be there to celebrate his life with you.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.
