Dear Jack-&-Bonnie, Dante-&-Lucy, and Family and Friends—especially Mary Shaffer:
I was saddened to learn of the death of Eva on February 15, 2016. It is sad to lose a loved one in death at any time or any age, but at 85 years old, prayerfully it can be said of Eva what was said of Isaac at Genesis 35:29, “she died old and satisfied with days.” Even though I did not know Eva personally, please accept my deepest sympathy at your loss.
May I please share with you some comforting verses from the Bible, thoughts that others have shared with me when I lost loved ones in death, especially my father, Harold, to cancer at Hospice Hawaii.
First, it was never our Creator's purpose that anyone should die, ever! When He put Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, they had the prospect of endless life in ageless bodies, in perfect health, on a perfect Earth (Genesis 1:28). Adam and Eve could have passed that life on to us, but they disobeyed and lost everything for themselves ... and us. (Romans 5:12)
Next, it comforted me, and softened my feelings about Jehovah God to learn that it is Satan who causes aging, sicknesses like cancer, and death--not God (Hebrews 2:14). Long before He created humans, the Creator already had all the angels He wanted in heaven (Job 38:7).
Finally, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are our guarantees that this Earth will yet be a peaceful, global paradise and that Eva (and countless millions of others, including Jack, Jason, Edmund and Yola) will be resurrected to enjoy it! Remember Jesus's words at John 5:28-29a and John 11:25: "I am the resurrection and the life," and "all those in the memorial tombs ... will be resurrected." Until then Eva, Rest In Peace.
May you have comfort and peace from these promises until the day when you can be reunited with a young and healthy Eva. And, ... If you would ever like to know more about when and how our Creator Jehovah will bring about these wonderful blessings (or why He has allowed sickness, suffering and death since Adam and Eve sinned so long ago), please feel free to contact me at the address below.
With deepest sympathy and genuine respect,
Harolyne Grant

I am so sorry to have lost contact with Eva due to being out of town and knowing that she was moving. I loved her and felt a great sense of loyalty to her because of how her husband, Jack, initiated getting my support for her before he died. I did visit her in Camillus and I was aware of her son's illness and subsequent death. Jack taught me some of the most unforgettable lessons like, "Never judge others by your standards," and "It's more important to be interested than interesting." I remember sitting on his bed with Eva and him when he was nearing death and eating a fish fry and watching Wheel of Fortune. I will keep in contact with both Eva and Jack in my prayers. God holds them safely now.

John & Family:
Don't know if you remember me - but I graduated from Central High, Class of 68. I worked with your Mom at Auburn Correctional Facility and found her to be such a lady.
My sincere condolences in her passing.

I too was a founding member of the Matthew House, and worked with your Mom on that project...We had so many talks and so much fun together....until she moved to Camillus and I lost track of her and her email. She was one special lady to me and I admired her tremendously. Sorry for your loss of a very special Mom.
