Obituary of Joseph DeNardo

Joseph "Beaver" DeNardo, 81, of Turnpike Rd., Auburn, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Auburn Community Hospital. Born in Auburn, he was the son of the late Anthony and Tillie Bashley DeNardo. Joe was an Army veteran serving his Country from 1952 to 1955 and retired from ALCO after 42 years of service. Joe appreciated wildlife and the great outdoors. One of his favorite past times was fishing on Cayuga Lake. He enjoyed watching all kinds of wild life from the comfort of his home and spent many hours tending to his vegetable garden . Whether out at a favorite restaurant or at home, Joe cherished his time shared with his family and friends who will miss him dearly. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Jordan. Joe is survived by his wife of 48 years , Sharon Newert DeNardo, his four children, Andrew (Beate) DeNardo, Frederick DeNardo, Cassandra (Will) Cuipylo and Tekla (Chris) Long , all of Auburn; 10 grandchildren, Michele, Patrick, Christopher, Nicholas, Hannah and Ryan DeNardo, Abigail and Ashley Cuipylo, Katie and Natalie Long; a great granddaughter, Olivia Grace DeNardo . Joe is also survived by five sister-in-laws who were very special to him and by several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are Monday April 28 from 4-7pm at Langham Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10AM at St. Patrick's Church in Jordan. Entombment with military honors will be in St. Joseph's Mausoleum.
