Dear Bruce, Paul, Peter, Deborah-&-Craig, Eleanor, and Family and Friends:
I was saddened to learn of the death of June on Thursday, October 29, last year. It is sad to lose a loved one in death at any age, but prayerfully at 87 years of age, it could be said of June what was said of Isaac at Genesis 25:39, "she died old and satisfied with days." Even though I did not know June personally, please accept my deepest sympathy at this anniversary period of your loss.
I would like to share with you some verses from the Bible that bring comfort, thoughts that others have shared with me when I lost loved ones.
First, it was never our Creator's purpose that anyone should die, ever! When He put Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, they had the prospect of endless life in ageless bodies, in perfect health, on a perfect Earth (Genesis 1:28). Adam and Eve could have passed that life on to us, but they sinned and lost everything for themselves ... and us. (Romans 5:12)
Next, it comforted me and softened my feelings toward Jehovah God to learn that it is Satan who causes aging, sickness like cancer and heart disease, and death--not God (Hebrews 2:14). Long before He created humans, the Creator already had all the angels He wanted in heaven (Job 38:7).
Finally, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are our guarantees that this Earth will yet be a peaceful, global paradise and that June (and countless millions of others, including Chester, Edmund-&-Martha) will be resurrected to enjoy it! Remember Jesus's words at John 5:28-29a and John 11:25: "I am the resurrection and the life," and "all those in the memorial tombs ... will be resurrected." Until then, June, Rest In Peace.
May you have comfort and peace from these promises until the day when you can be reunited with a young and healthy June. And, ... If you would ever like to know more about when and how our Creator Jehovah will bring about these wonderful blessings (or why He has allowed sickness, suffering and death since Adam and Eve sinned so long ago), please feel free to contact me at the address below.
With deepest sympathy and genuine respect,
Harolyne Grant
