Obituary of David C. Marion
David C. Marion, "Big Foot", 55, of Aurora, New York passed away at his home with his family at his side on Monday, August 26, 2024 following a long illness. Growing up in Auburn, New York, David spent summers on Cayuga Lake and lived with his grandfather, Melvin Tait, for a short period of time, where he learned his farming skills and the ability to repair equipment. That knowledge allowed him to work for several farmers in the Aurora area.
After High School David worked in the heating and air conditioning profession while receiving his degree in Business Administration from Cayuga Community College. In 1990, he started his own construction company, Dave Marion Carpentry Inc. and remained active throughout his illness until 2023.
He had a love for the great outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as spending his winters in Gulf Shore, Florida with his companion Roxann Shick.
He survived by his loving mother Faye (Densley) Marion; two brothers, Daniel and Dewitt Marion; a sister Ann (Donal) Bell and their family; two daughters, Makayla (Jeremy) Welden and their son David; Laura (Donald) Allen and their children Donald III, Jordan and Danielle. Also surviving is a favorite niece Kristie (Rooder) Gianotta and their son Joseph. David was preceded in death by his father Dewitt C. Marion.
David's mother and brother Daniel would like to thank those who assisted them with his care in his later days, especially his friends Ed Vernon, Doug Shear, Jadwiga Wilbur and the wonderful staff of Hospice of CNY.
At the request of David, there will be no calling hours or services at this time. A family celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Contributions can be made to the Aurora Fire Department in his memory. Those wishing may leave a condolence for the family by visiting www.Langhamfuneralhomellc.com
