Obituary of Betty Lou Weeks
Betty Lou Weeks, 94, of Fleming, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, February 4, 2024. Betty was born in Auburn, the daughter of the late Charles and Violet (Stetroth) Baxter and was a graduate of Central High School. Betty was previously employed with Auburn Memorial Hospital for over 40 years, where she worked as a medical secretary in the Diagnostic Imaging Department.
Crafting, especially ceramics, was among her favorite pastimes. She also enjoyed the company of her pet dogs and the challenge of a good puzzle. She loved shopping for and collecting Mackenzie Childs treasures and dining out at many favorite local restaurants, Balloons, Hilltop and Auburn Diner, to name a few. Although she loved the Auburn area, Betty looked forward to wintering in Florida every year with her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Donald James Weeks, a nephew Robert (Leslie) Baxter; a niece Connie (Roger) Murray; great nephews, Greg (Diana) Murray and Bryan (Jocelyn) and their children Faye and William Murray; two step daughters, Nancy (Ed) Sienkiewicz and Cindy Porter and by her beloved dog CoCo.
Betty was predeceased by her siblings Robert and Judy Baxter; her first husband Charles Cora; a special friend Stuart MacKay and by her dog Kurt.
There are no services planned at this time. The family would like to thank Betty and Don's caregivers , Cindy Church and Sharon Czornig for their attentive love and care over the years as well as Fleming Fire Department (Station 1) for their many professional responses.
