Obituary of Jeffrey F. McCarthy

Jeffrey F. McCarthy, 49, of 50 Burt Ave., Auburn, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Auburn Community Hospital. Born in Auburn he was the son of Robert J. and Evelyn (Jean) Post McCarthy. Jeff was a 1981 Auburn High School graduate and was employed for many years as a meat cutter at Indelicato's Meat Market. He was a communicant of St. Alphonsus Church. Jeff enjoyed watching baseball and football and was an avid Mets and Dallas Cowboys fan. He listened to Lynyard Skynyrd and REO Speedwagon and enjoyed fishing in his past time. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children, Steven and Kaylyn McCarthy both of Auburn, three brothers, Robert (Patti) McCarthy, John (Anne) McCarthy and Thomas (Roxann) McCarthy all of Auburn, and by several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Kathy Pysnack McCarthy of Auburn and by a special friend Debbie Townsend of Auburn. Calling hours will be Sunday, March 16 from Noon to 3pm at Langham Funeral Home, 75 E. Genesee St., Auburn. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30am at St. Alphonsus Church with burial to follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in Jeff's memory may be made to Make a Wish Foundation and to the Wounded Warriors. Jeff was a kind, loving and friendly person and will be remembered fondly by his signature good bye, "see ya!"
