Sean & Tonzi Family-
I’m sharing a favorite photo of our championship St.A’s Hoops squad. What great fun we had & how lucky was I to be introduced to my first coaching mentor Coach Bob Tonzi.
Teamwork, discipline, fundamentals, organization, sportsmanship, fun & winning.
I went on to Coach for 35 years @ AHS & CCC & would hope he’d be proud that I shared those same core values with my teams.
I remember how excited I was to go to practice & preparing for game days, seeing my brothers & learning from Bob & Jim Tonzi. Team breakfast at Lewis’ Restaurant was a Saturday tradition.
Our last interaction was a handshake & a hug on the 18th hole @ Highland Park after a wonderful round of golf!
RIP Coach & Condolences to the Tonzi Family.

I first met Mr. Tonzi in 1972 while playing football for A.H.S. - This Man has always been Special to me .. Each and every time we crossed each other's path His Smile & words of encouragement to me made that Day better. When I went on to Officiate. Basketball he would always welcome me with that smile and handshake, just do your best .. As his days of Football Officiating, you always knew your Team was getting his best that's how he Officiated. My Life can only get better because of the fact that I had the chance to know Mr.Bob Tonzi . Prayers to the Family and always Smile and be Proud, your Dad was the BEST !!!

Very sad to see your Dad had passed away. What a gentleman. Always had a smile on his face and a complimentary word to say. Used to see him all the time at Wegmans. I remember him refereeing some of our high school games also.
