Richard H. Zammett, "Dick", 84, of 6214 Oakridge Rd., Owasco, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on December 2, 2018 at his home. Born at his family home on Union Street in Auburn, Dick was the son of the late Ernest and Mary Rath Zammett. Dick was a graduate of Holy Family School and was a retired grocery store manager with Acme Markets. He later owned and operated West Lake Mini Market with his wife, Mary Frieda, and worked at Ed & Jeans in Port Byron and at Wegmans. He officially retired in June of 2017 from the Gavras Center where he was a bus aid and was loved by all.

Dick enjoyed bowling, music and was an avid Yankee fan and SU basketball fan. He loved being in the sun and was often found sitting by his pool or fishing on Owasco Lake. He cherished his time with his family and enjoyed kraft beers and visiting the Finger Lakes Kraft Beer tour trails with them.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Frieda Daratt Zammett; his five children, Michael (Marybeth) Zammett, Timothy (Vanessa) Zammett, Patricia Zammett, Susan (Ken) Sargent, Catherine (Sam) Cuipylo; a sister in law Emma Lockwood Zammett; eleven grandchildren, Laura, Dionne, Susan, Edward, Leigha, Jami, Jenna, Kenny, Lauren, Jenna and Miranda; many great grandchildren and several nieces. He was predeceased by his son David Zammett in 2016, and by a brother Ernest and sister Irene.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, December 5 from 4-6pm at Langham Funeral Home, LLC, 75 E. Genesee St., Auburn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, December 6 at 10:30am at St. Alphonsus Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
