Obituary of Phyllis Silverman

Phyllis Silverman, 90, passed away June 30, 2018 at Auburn Community Hospital. Born in Ithaca, NY, she resided in Auburn for all of her adult life and was an active citizen and volunteer throughout that time. Many will recall her beauty and generous spirit, her outstanding cooking, and ever-present sense of humor. Above all else, Phyllis was a devoted homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Phyllis is predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Martin Silverman; parents Morton and Jane Liberman; brother Myron Liberman. She is survived by daughters Susan Silverman of Auburn and Ruth Siegle (Ronald) of Delaware, OH; grandchildren Adam Hitchcock (Jessica) of Dunmore, PA, Max Hitchcock (Emily) of Auburn, Gabriel Siegle of Columbus, OH and Hannah Stapleton (Ralph) of Delaware, OH; great-granddaughters Rachel Hitchcock, Zoe Hitchcock, Ruby and Madeline Hitchcock, and Vivian Stapleton. The family would like to thank the staff at Finger Lakes Center for Living for becoming our family by showing such love and kindness to our beloved mother.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, July 3, from 10 to 11 AM followed by a memorial service at Langham Funeral Home, 75 E. Genesee St., Auburn. Burial will follow at Fort Hill Cemetery.
