Obituary of Mary Beyer Drake

Mary Beyer Drake, "Betty", 91, formerly of E. Genesee St., Auburn, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Auburn Community Hospital. Born in Syracuse, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Jane Connor Beyer. Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her. As a devout catholic, she was a communicant of St. Alphonsus Church where she was a religion teacher , a bingo volunteer, belonged to the Rosary Altar Society and every Saturday cleaned the church for as many years as she could with the Order of Martha. Betty was a member of The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. After raising her eight children, she went back to work as a secretary at Our Lady of Lourdes School where she stayed for over 20 years. She is survived by her seven children, Diane (Kenneth) Kudla, Donna(Stanley) Richardson, Kathy (Donald) Walawender, Raymond (Paula) Drake, II, Paul (Sally) Drake, Mary (Mark) Fishlock, and Robert (Linda) Drake; grandchildren, Kelley(Joe) Cosentino, Tracey (Chad) Engelking, Rebecca (Joshua) Podkaminer, Stanley Richardson, Jr., Michael (Heather) Dobreski, Brian Dobreski, John (Jai) Dobreski, Douglas (Jessica) Drake, Paul Drake, Jr., Matthew Drake, Tim (Theresa) Walawender and Dr. Jeff Walawender; great grandchildren Blue Engelking, Madison Cosentino, Dylan, Dustin and Lucas Walawender, Beth Dobreski, Nathan and Ellison Podkaminer; a sister Katie Byrne and by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband Raymond William Drake in 1989 ; a sister Jane Dolan, a brother Frank Beyer, Jr., a daughter Patricia Drake and by a great- grandson Jack Podkaminer. Calling hours will be Tuesday September 2 from 3-7PM at Langham Funeral Home, LLC, 75 E. Genesee St., Auburn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesdsay, September 3 at 11AM at St. Alphonsus Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Betty may be made to the Patricia J.
