Obituary of Elizabeth Schemerhorn

Elizabeth Schemerhorn, 92, formerly of Woodlawn Ave., Auburn, passed away December 31, 2017 at Groton Community Health Care Center. Born in Auburn she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ellen (Ballantyne) Ogilvie, Sr. Betty was an Auburn East High School graduate and retired from NY telephone where she was an observing supervisor. She later was the administrative assistant for Westminister Manor. Betty and her late husband were active members at Westminister Presbyterian Church and was also a tireless volunteer for many local community organizations.

She is survived by her two children, Ellen Schemerhorn (Tom Moser) and Rob Schemerhorn (Danielle Roetting); three grandchildren Andrew and Emily Schemerhorn and Benjamin Moser. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Earle Schemerhorn in 2012 and by a brother Robert B. Ogilvie, Jr.

There are no calling hours and a memorial service will be at a future date. Private burial will be in Fort Hill Cemetery.
