I just learned of Dick's passing and am greatly saddened. He was a fine man with genuine charm and zest for life. He was a wonderful husband for my dear cousin Betty and such a role is a crown for a man.
My prayers for family and friends.

Dear Betty and family,
Sometimes it is difficult to find the words to express one's thoughts and feelings on the passing of a good friend. I am afraid such is the case here. I'd known Dick from the mid eighties when I joined the Hi-Lo card club and since then he became a good friend, not to mentionthe fact he was a pretty darned good card player. He had a lot of fine qualities. He loved his family and always did his best to provide for them in whatever way he could.
His love for Betty was obvious any time he spoke of her. It was probably the only time he seemed so gentle, when you would ask about Betty, his voice softened and you could just feel the warmth and tenderness with which he held her affection.
He was a good citizen, involved in his community and never afraid to say what he thought. Dick was the last of the original Hi Lo players and we were lucky to have him for as long as we did. And I am a better man for having been able to count him as my friend. May his soul rest in peace.

I have been blessed in my life with so many good people as friends. Some make it to a place where you know that you are truly going to miss them. Richard is one of those people. I have known Dick for 30 some odd years. His enjoyment of world was contagious. He often made me smile and then he would too. I will miss those poker games, rides to the doctors, trips to Tops.....and I will miss you! . David and Chris Kapcha
