Albert T. Maloney, Jr., 75, of Baldwinsville, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Syracuse Home in Baldwinsville. Born in Glens Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Albert T. Sr. and Mildred (Roach) Maloney. Al was a 1959 East High School graduate and was previously employed with the Auburn Enlarged School District as well as Jordan Elbridge Jr./Sr. High School where he retired as Director of Guidance.
Al loved to golf, fish, hunt and watch sporting events. As a young man he was a three sport athlete playing basketball, baseball and football. He was the captain of the football team and married his high school sweetheart Mary who was a cheerleader on and off the field. They continued their mutual love for sports attending every home basketball and football game while he attended The Ohio State University. He was enlisted in the Air Force serving for four years. During this time he traveled to 27 countries.
Al loved his family dearly and was so proud to be called dad and grandfather. He valued education and just spending time together with family and friends. He shared his life stories which were always entertaining and at times surprising. Some of his best stories surrounded family vacations.
Al was predeceased by the love of his life Mary C. Maloney on 3/6/2017 after 50 years of marriage. He is survived by his children, Jennifer (Kenneth) Krafft and Robert (Kathleen) Maloney; a sister Mary (Thomas) Glauberman; a brother James Maloney; four grandchildren, Katherine and Kenneth Krafft and Marielle and Magnolia Maloney and by several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at Sacred Heart Church on Friday, May 19 from 9:30 to 10:45 am with a Memorial Mass at 11am. Burial to follow in Fort Hill Cemetery.
