Lester F. Cappy, Jr., 74, of Stryker Homes, Auburn, passed away March 27, 2017 at Auburn Rehab and Nursing Center. Born in Auburn on September 21, 1942, he was the son of the late Lester F. Cappy, Sr. and Elizabeth (Green) Cappy. Lester attended Weedsport Central High School and Syracuse Barber School. He retired from the Pioneer Restaurant where he was a chef for over 40 years. He enjoyed cooking his special recipes and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his sister, Cynthia (Leon) Jessie; two nephews, Brian (Mandi) Jessie and Todd Jessie; three step brothers, Ronald, Richard and Rodney Berry; an aunt, Anna Flanigan; an uncle, Kenneth Green and by several cousins. He was predeceased by his step father Russell Berry.
There are no calling hours or funeral services. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Those wishing may make contributions in Lester's memory to Owasco Vol. Fire Dept. Auxiliary #1, 7174 Owasco Rd. Auburn, NY 13021.
